Connect to Secure Wi-Fi (Personal Devices)

Use these steps to connect a personal phone, tablet, or laptop to your building's secure Wi-Fi network (for example, kre-secure). District-managed devices connect automatically.

Before you start

Sign in with the same username and password you use for your work computer. Enter only your username, not your full email address. For example, if your email is jsmith@yourdistrict.org, your username is jsmith.

Wi-Fi sign-in example. Correct username: jsmith. Incorrect username: jsmith@yourdistrict.org, do not add the domain. Network: your building's secure network, for example kre-secure.

iPhone and iPad

Open Settings > Wi-Fi and tap your building's secure network.
Enter your username (no @domain) and password, then tap Join.
If a certificate screen appears, tap Trust.

Mac

Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar and choose your building's secure network.
Enter your username (no @domain) and password.
Click Join. If asked to verify a certificate, click Continue.

Android

Open Settings > Wi-Fi (on some phones, Network & internet) and tap your building's secure network.
Choose the settings shown below, then tap Connect.

Personal Chromebook

Select the time in the bottom-right corner, then select Wi-Fi.
Select your building's secure network, enter the settings shown below, then select Connect.

Windows 11

Select the network icon on the taskbar, select the arrow next to Wi-Fi, then select More Wi-Fi settings. You can also open Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi.

Select Manage known networks > Add network.
Enter the settings shown below, then select Save.
Connect to the network. When asked, enter your username and password. Do not enter your email address.

Windows 11 Add a new network settings. Network name: your building's secure network. Security type: WPA2-Enterprise AES. EAP method: Protected EAP (PEAP). Authentication method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2). Your private identifier: your username.

Still having trouble?

Forget the network on your device, then try again.
Double-check that you entered only your username, not your email address.
Changed your password recently? Use your new password.
